Rishi Sunak stopped UK truckers from being self-employed while using a limited company under the IR35 rules. That lead to 60,000 truckers from the EU returning home. Wages for UK truckers were cut from around £1,000 a week to £500 a week overnight after Sunaks decision. The trucker shortages in UK lead to higher wage demands which lead to supermarkets cutting deliveries, which then lead to higher prices and lower stock levels on Supermarket shelves. Sunaks decision to axe IR35 for UK truckers directly added to UK inflation and it must be reveresed immediately.
